About Melanie

I began my yoga journey in 2017 after a period of illness. Having always been part of the dance world, I was used to an environment that often felt competitive. Yoga offered something different—a space where I could find strength without comparison and honour what my body was capable of in that moment on the mat.

My first class with Barbara opened my eyes to how yoga not only supports physical wellbeing but also builds emotional strength and resilience. That experience inspired me to train with Zenways, where I deepened my understanding of mindful movement, breath awareness, and meditation.

Finding calm in a busy world lies at the heart of both my teaching and my life. Alongside teaching yoga, I work as a coach within the education sector, supporting staff wellbeing and developing curriculums across schools. Change can be challenging, and I draw on yogic strategies and mindfulness practices to encourage others to work with awareness and nurture personal growth. Together, Barbara and I also run specialist retreats, offering space for individuals to pause, reflect, and reconnect.

For me, yoga extends far beyond the mat—it’s a way of being that brings balance, compassion, and clarity to every part of life.
